SYNOPSIS

Alexandra Anderson is on the run from the law.
When the thirteen-year-old orphan can run no further, she collapses at the gates of the prestigious racing and breeding farm, North Oak. Horse racing strikes a deep chord in her. She hears a higher calling in the jingle jangle of bit and stirrup and in the thunder of hooves on the turn for home. It tells her she has a place in the world. But when the racing headlines find her on the front of every sports page, she realizes North Oak is no longer a safe haven.
Money can't buy love, but it just might secure Alex's future. Will everyone at North Oak still want to offer her a home when they learn of her unspeakable crime?
On the heels of Joanna Campbell's beloved Thoroughbred Series, and Walter Farley's Black Stallion, comes a brand new young adult horse racing series that will sweep you away like a runaway Thoroughbred.

Her characters are complex and conflicted . The story line could be taken out of the pages of a newspaper. The horses are not put into the story line just for show . They are a big part of the story.  Alexandra is a great character . She is trying to be tough but deep down inside she is a scared little girl. She has been through so much in her young life. But she is also a survivor, she doesn't want to get involved with anyone cause of her past in the group home . She sees the love between the families but doesn't know how to react when they show her love. But as you read you see that Alex is starting to blossom under the care. She touches all the other characters in such profound ways.  This was a great start to a new series that has lots of potential.

Review of Got Luck by: Michael Darling

<a href="http://www.tomoson.com/?code=TOP40b6e3829c94c06d59d22ed78a240319" rel="nofollow"><img style="display: none" src="http://www.tomoson.com/images/front/pixel.png" /></a>

The description of the book sounded interesting. I gave the book a read, and I am happy that I decided to read it. The first paragraphs had me thinking of one of those 1930's detective movies that I am not so much a fan of, and was unsure if I would enjoy the story. However then the lead character interested me. I think the term Got Luck is sarcastic in nature. After putting in a little time I was actually drawn into the story line. After getting a couple chapters into it I couldn't put it down.

This story is crime drama and fantasy. There is a little bit of humor to it too. You can't help but like the main character! It does have quite a bit of it that makes you think of TV show drama, and I would say that the target audience is Young Adult. Nothing wrong with that one of my favorite books is considered Young Adult, but I don't care. I do like the science fiction/ fantasy element to the story. The names are hard to figure out, but at the beginning of the book shows you how to pronounce the names. This is very helpful.

All in all I would call it a good read, and worth your time. It is a pretty quick read. Once you start and get into it you won't be able to put it down. #futurehousepub

Review of Bulgarian Lavender Essential Oil

<a href="http://www.tomoson.com/?code=TOP59d17a9edf2794baf0f566216eeb72fa" rel="nofollow"><img style="display: none" src="http://www.tomoson.com/images/front/pixel.png" /></a>

Lavender Oil is highly effective in treating depression, stress, and anxiety, making it perfect for use in diffusers. It is also beneficial for headaches, migraine relief and as a sleep aid. Lavender Oil is one of the few natural remedies for reducing signs of aging. It has also been used to treat eczema and psoriasis. It can also be used for soaps, candle making, massage oils, room sprays, bath salts and body wash. I have put some in a spray bottle and put a light mist over my bed and pillows because it is good for sleeping. I didn't know Bulgarian lavender would smell differently then regular lavender. Well it does. The dropper is invaluable to control the amount of oil dispensed, as only a few drops are needed for most purposes.

Lavender Uses:
Lavender is used for restlessness, insomnia, nervousness, and depression. It is also used for a variety of digestive complaints including meteorism (abdominal swelling from gas in the intestinal or peritoneal cavity), loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, intestinal gas (flatulence), and upset stomach.

Some people use lavender for painful conditions including migraineheadaches, toothaches, sprains, nerve pain, sores, and joint pain. It is also used for acne and cancer, and to promote menstruation.

Lavender is applied to the skin for hair loss (alopecia areata) and pain, and to repel mosquitoes and other insects.

Some people add lavender to bathwater to treat circulation disorders and improve mental well being.

By inhalation, lavender is used as aromatherapy for insomnia, pain, and agitation related to dementia.

Review of 1byone 2.8L Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier and Aroma Diffuser, No Noise & 7 Color LED Lights With Automatic Shut-off Function For Your Home And Office

<a href="http://www.tomoson.com/?code=TOP8b01947a3c70037cff2d7ea6d55d485b" rel="nofollow"><img style="display: none" src="http://www.tomoson.com/images/front/pixel.png" /></a>

-an indication when it is getting low with the LED turning red.
-This has a 7 led function makes for a perfect night light. (Note - You can keep the light off, change it to one of 7 different colors or can have on a rotate mode.) The light is not very bright (blue seems brightest).Options include purple, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.
-Light and power button for humidifier are separate.
-It has an aroma diffuser and my others never did. Great for your favorite scent or even possibly a vicks type of aroma if needed. (Only needs a few drops.)
-Large 2.8L tank is great for over night – up to 10 hours use and has a nice feature that will shut this down if it runs out of water so you do not damage it. (The led light on front will be red vs. green when water is low or out.)
-Comes with stone filter. (My other ones did not come with a filter and I had to buy them.)
-It is quiet compared to some of the others I have used.
-Has a knob to control vapor flow. Not a cheap, low-med-high switch.
Since this is cool mist, this could be placed in a child's room when they are sick. Easy to set up, just a few steps. Instructions where easy to follow.
*****Aroma Diffuser for Relax:******
Add 1-2 drops of your favorite oil and water into the sponge

Review of a Folding Chess Board

<a href="http://www.tomoson.com/?code=TOP985231b113302d1de893da1a43a1a443" rel="nofollow"><img style="display: none" src="http://www.tomoson.com/images/front/pixel.png" /></a>

This is a chess board that I gave to a boy on his 13th birthday. The board, when open, measures 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 7/8". Folded, the board is 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 1 3/4". The squares are 1 1/8" x 1 1/8". The pawns are a hair over an inch tall and the kings are slightly over 2 1/8" tall. Each piece has a felted bottom and the bottoms of the box are felt-lined. The pieces come in two zip-lock plastic bags inside the box and the pieces easily fit inside the box, so putting the pieces away is effortless. The box has brass colored hinges held in place with small Philips head screws, and the catch that keeps the box closed is also brass colored and attached with screws. The clasp on the sample chess set I received to review holds the box shut tightly; there is no chance the box will accidentally open. It is a very nice set for the price!

COMPLETE SET WITH ALL PIECES - This, mini chess set is about 30 percent smaller than a tournament standard size, making it the best size to take on the road, stash in a drawer at home, or give as a gift! Classic pieces are hand-stained wood - not plastic, metal or stone - with felt bottoms. More modern looking than Staunton style. Sizes range from Pawns just over 1 inch tall with a .625 inch diameter base to the King which is just over 2 inches tall with a .75 inch base.
