Review of Lavender Essential Oil.

I see some reviewers complaining that it smells "watered-down", altered, or different from other oils they've bought. Be sure to check that you weren't buying a lavender hybrid in the past, known as Lavandula x hybrida, or LAVANDIN. It's commonly marketed and sold as real lavender, as companies can claim it is a "type of lavender". While it IS technically a TYPE of lavender, it differs from real lavender in a few ways.

Most Notably: the scent of LAVANDIN is much stronger than that of REAL lavender. It's medicinal properties vary somewhat as well. REAL lavender can be used to help heal burns, while the hybrid can actually worsen them!

LAVANDIN is used because it's easier to grow, and therefore cheaper. NOW Lavender oil is NOT the hybrid, but the real thing. I believe it is a superior product, but for those of you that prefer the stronger smell, look for Lavandula Hybrida, or "Lavandin" instead. If a bottle doesn't list which "breed" it is, you can't be certain which type it is. Maybe you could call whichever company that is selling it and find out? I would hope they would tell you, at least! NOW, however, actually lists the name on the bottle as being Lavandula Officinalis, or "official lavender". It can also be called Lavandula angustifolia, Lavandula vera, among other names. There are dozens of different species of Lavender, so you may come across other names as well. The way to tell the difference between real and hybrid is this: if there is an "x" between genus and species names (Lavandula x intermedia) then it's a hybrid, and should smell stronger. I have noticed my nails seem to be getting stronger as well. Hemp oil is supposed to strengthen hair, nails; boost immune system; good for heart health; metabolism and a lot of other uses. I can't attest to whether it works for those things but I'm seeing an improvement in my immunity I believe. You only take a teaspoon a day and it doesn't have an odor or any bad taste. I have been using hemp oil for my aches and pains for a while now, it really helps especially in my joints. This particular brand seems to work a little bit better than others that I've tried before. It really goes to work quickly and lasts longer. I take some in the morning to get me through my day,and right before bed to help me sleep. Now I don't have to take pain pills or use as much topical ointments and the affects on my body aren't as damaging.

This brand is infused with other oils such as sunflower and letchin which helps the hemp get into my system easier. The one draw back is this mixture gives it and unexpected flavor( wasn't quite used to it). I do like that it is easier to digest than straight hemp oil. And the fact that this is an all natural product is wonderful. I would definitely recommend trying this over other brands of hemp, and absolutely over pills .

Everyone is super busy these days and I'm no exception, however it's so easy when you come home from a hard days work to just fall into bad eating habits and grab whatever is convenient which let's face it ends up being processed foods.
